Thirteen-year-old Gérard grew up in the shadow of conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. After tragically losing his father to the violence, Gérard and his siblings were left in a highly precarious situation.
Recognizing their vulnerability, the United Nations and the DRC Ministry of Social Affairs intervened to evacuate the children to the safety of Kinshasa. They were soon referred to our Children of Grace Centre for emergency care.
Today, Gérard is healing in a stable and loving environment. No longer focused solely on survival, he is finally free to dream of the future—he hopes to become an engineer one day. To help him reach that goal, we provide:
- Quality Education: Providing the academic foundation he needs to build his future.
- Psychosocial Support: Specialized counseling to help him process grief and the trauma of war.
- Fraternal Stability: Ensuring he and his siblings remain together as a family.
